Chambers of Commerce across Southeast Texas have worked for months to coordinate the trip most business leaders look forward to every two years, Golden Triangle Days in Austin. Golden Triangle Days in Austin is a three day long event of area delegates who gather at the capitol to build relationships between Southeast Texas businesses as well as state officials, agency directors and their staff members. Meetings with state agency department heads and other officials provide a forum for our delegation to provide information and requests to those in Austin, asking for their support or assistance.

“Golden Triangle Days in Austin is well established as one of the best community events in Austin during the convening of the State Legislature” says Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce President, Jim Rich, “It is part community pride and part wanting to show the influence of a powerful region that contributes so much to the state economy. We also have new elected representatives and wish to offer them support.”

“Golden Triangle Days in Austin provides an opportunity for our local businesses to build relationships with our elected officials” says GreaterOrange Area Chamber of Commerce President, Ida Schossow, “Delegates are encouraged to visit the offices of Senators and Representatives between meetings and events.

Delegates are urged to attend every meeting and event during the legislative trip, as every aspect of the event encompasses a valuable part of the process. This is a tremendous opportunity to better understand the way the business of our state is handled and to make an impact on the benefits to our area.

“The Golden Triangle’s economy depends on good legislation. This session, funding for transportation, environmental initiatives, windstorm insurance reform and education will all be considered and it is imperative that the businesses in the Golden Triangle be represented,” says Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce President, Bill McCoy, “Golden Triangle Days in Austin provides an opportunity for small businesses to join with the large corporations to solicit the support of our elected State representatives to support these issues.”

Golden Triangle Days in Austin is a great opportunity for Southeast Texans to take part in a fun, informative event that gives attendees chance to visit Austin and represent the interests and priorities of the Golden Triangle business community.

The Golden Triangle Days in Austin 2015 agenda includes visits from local legislators, commission heads and presentation of resolutions. Delegates will also enjoy a night of authentic Southeast Texas Cuisine and a live performance by Tracy Byrd on Monday evening.
