On Saturday, March 7, committee members from the Special Angels Rodeo, the only adaptive sports rodeo in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, represented the rodeo at the Baseball Opening Ceremonies for Adaptive Sports for Kids. Special Angels Rodeo, which is a project of the Orange County Sheriff's Posse, was represented by Lue Harris, Kevin Norton, Jo Harris, Kay Peltier, Patty Walker, and Esmeralda Carlock.

The committee members brought several pieces of equipment from the rodeo on the road with them to let participants and their families see the equipment and experience some of the events first hand. They also brought along a $500 check, which was presented to A.S.K. to support their program. A.S.K. makes sports such as baseball, basketball, martial arts, and cheerleading available to the special needs community throughout Southeast Texas.

The event took place at the Nederland High School softball field. The 2nd Annual Special Angels Rodeo will be Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Orange County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo Arena.
