Julie Kahla from Bridge City was in on a lucky drawing to win a truck or $500 at the Golden Nugget Casino recently. She had to be present to win and participate in the drawing.

Eleven names were drawn; ten would win $500.00 and one would win the truck. There were 11 envelopes on a display at the casino and as a name was called, each person would pick an envelope and it could not be opened until all 11 people were picked. Thank goodness for the eight "no shows," Julie's name was the 10th drawn with two envelopes left. Then on the count of three, everyone opened their envelope and BOOM, Julie won the brand new 2015 Chevy Silverado 4x4 truck.

A funny side note - on a trip to Houston this week, Julie got pulled over because there were no tags on the new truck. Well, the officer believed her story of the great win and she went on her way. Lady Luck must surely on Julie's side.
