Orange student earns scholarship from Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has donated $32,000 to be used for scholarships for Lamar Institute of Technology students.

The funds will be distributed to six students, including Christina Brown of Orange, who is earning a certificate in instrumentation.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a Section 501(c) (3) charity that benefits youth, supports education, and facilitates better agricultural practices through exhibitions and presentations.

Since its beginnings in 1932, the Show has committed nearly $375 million to the youth of Texas. The scholarships can be used for tuition, fees and/or books, tools and supplies for classes at LIT.
