West Orange Stark's assistant coach Carl Broussard has resigned from the District. His resignation was submitted Thursday and is effective immediately.

Broussard turned himself in Tuesday evening after he was involved in a hit and run fatality on MacArthur Dr., in Orange. The accident killed Ava Lewis and her daughter, Lamya Newhouse. After Broussard struck the two, he said in an affidavit that he "heard a thump, pulled into a private parking lot and then drove off."

Broussard was arraigned Wednesday morning and was released from the Orange County Jail, on bond Wednesday evening.
