Lamar University’s regular-season finale against McNeese State will be televised on ESPN3 announced the Southland Conference. The annual rivalry game is slated to kick off at 6 p.m. from Provost Umphrey Stadium, and will serve as Senior Night for the Cards.

It will be the sixth time this season the Cardinals have had a game broadcast between three different networks (Fox Sports, American Sports and ESPN3). The Cards are 2-2 (.500) in those games.

The Cardinals (5-5/4-4 SLC) enter the contest in a three-way tie for fourth in the league standings. Big Red is looking to play the role of spoiler and ruin McNeese State’s bid for an undefeated season. The Cowboys are the conference’s lone team without a loss this season.

In addition to trying to be the first team to defeat McNeese this season, the Cardinals are looking to win consecutive games for the first time this year as well as record back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1966 and 1967.

LU will be looking for its winning season against a team that it hasn’t had much luck against historically. McNeese State is 23-9-1 (.712) all-time against LU, including a 13-4-1 (.750) record in Beaumont. The Cards ended a run of four-straight losses against McNeese last season with a thrilling three-point win in Lake Charles. The victory was the first against the Cowboys and against a nationally ranked opponent since bringing back the program, and it was also the first victory in Lake Charles since the 1982 season. The Red and White enters Saturday’s Senior Night contest looking for consecutive wins in the series for the first time since the 1966 and 1967 seasons.
