Severe weather possible with cold front

Last updated 12/11/2015 at Noon

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting a strong cold front to move through the region late Saturday night through Sunday. Strong to severe storms will be possible, with damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. One to three inches of rain is expected. Due to the strong southerly winds, minor coastal flooding could occur during high tide on Saturday and Sunday.

Next week, an unsettled weather pattern continues, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible Tuesday through Thursday.

Temperatures will be unseasonably warm Friday and Saturday, before moderating to slightly above normal next week.
