A bicyclist who had been struck Tuesday morning by an Orange Police Department vehicle has died from his injuries. Nineteen year old Devon Lynch Lestage had been taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont following the accident.

Lestage was riding his bike at about 12:15 am on the East feeder road of IH-10, when he was struck by the police vehicle, driven by Officer Brian Latiolais. Latiolais was not inured in the crash.

Since the officer driving the car is an Orange police officer, the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident. According to Trooper Stephanie Davis, Lestage was riding the bike facing oncoming traffic, but witnesses said the bike didn't have any lights on the front.
