NWS - Major flooding forecast for City of Orange

Last updated 3/10/2016 at Noon

The National Weather Service is expecting another round of rain and thunderstorms on Friday, before tapering off on Saturday.

Due to the heavy rains seen this week above Toledo Bend, The Sabine River Authority has had to open gates at the dam to record levels today. Due to the extreme flow, record-breaking river flooding is expecting along the Sabine River, from Burkeville, to Bon Wier and Deweyville. Major flooding is forecast for the city of Orange from the Sabine River flooding later next week. Moderate to major flooding is expected along the Calcasieu River as well.

Tides will continue to run above normal. Minor coastal flooding is expected during times of high tide over the next week.
