Rain moves back into forecast; minor river flooding possible

The National Weather Service is expecting dry weather to continue through the weekend, with seasonable temperatures. Sunday and Monday will be windy however, with southeasterly winds gusting in the 25 to 30 mph range.

Rain chances return to the forecast in the Monday through Wednesday time frame, as a cold front moves down into the region and then stalls out off the coast. No severe storms are expected, but some locations could see over an inch of rain.

Along the coast, tides will run above normal Sunday and Monday, and turn to below normal by next Wednesday and Thursday. Minor river flooding on the Sabine River near Deweyville will continue into the weekend.
