The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the Student of the Month for Bridge City High School is Camden DuBois. Camden was presented his certificate and gift bag by Chamber Ambassador/Board Member Lucy Fields at the April 12 coffee hosted by Total Impressions Salon. He received gift certificates and gifts from several local merchants.

Camden is the son of Dwayne and Cristal DuBois.

He has a GPA of 3.72 and is ranked 30 of 158.

Camden’s awards and honors include:

• National Honor Society: Junior and Senior years
• All District Academic: Junior and Senior years
• All State Academic: Senior year
• Honor Roll: All four years of high school
• All District Quarterback: Junior and Senior years
• KOGT Player of the Game: Senior year
• All Orange County Quarterback: Senior year
• Regional Qualifier 4x200 Relay: Junior year

Camden’s clubs and organizations include:

• Varsity Football Captain: Junior and Senior years
• Student Council: Senior year
• National Honor Society: Junior and Senior years
• One Act Play Lead Role: Senior year
• Texas Republican Convention Delegate: Senior year
• Track and Field: Junior and Senior years
• FFA: Sophomore and Junior years
• Fishing Team: Senior year
• FCA Student Representative: Junior and Senior years

In community service, Camden has done mission work in impoverished communities in Mexico and Guatemala; Volunteered for VBS at Winfree Baptist Church; Student Life Ministry in North Texas; Volunteered at Youth Summer Football Camp in Bridge City and Hardin Jefferson.

Stacia Ener, Business Education teacher, said, “Having Camden as a student this year has been a blessing. He is a dedicated student who strives to succeed in school and keeps a positive attitude. He has a tremendous amount of respect for teachers and his peers. Camden is an excellent role model for other students.”

Cheryl Royal, Director of Student Activities, said, “Camden DuBois is one of the most well rounded young men that Bridge City High School has ever had walk its halls.

From being our award winning quarterback for our football team, lead in the one act play, Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader, being in the top 20% of his senior class, or being a contributing part of the leadership class; Camden is truly the embodiment of the word “leader” and very deserving of the honor.

I have had the privilege of knowing Camden and his family for his entire life.

He has always been a faithful servant in his church- whether it mission camps, VBS, or mission trips all over the world.

Camden does not shy away from stepping up to stretch himself to try something new and serving people.

He is a young man of great integrity; if he commits to something, he stays true to his word and gives 110%.”

Stacy Webb, Theatre/Communications teacher, said, “Camden is an authentic person.

Teachers and peers trust him because he is a leader who is unwavering, especially when faced with the challenges of popular opinion.

Thus, Camden is very respectful to his peers as he is always encouraging and supportive of them.

In addition, he always stays true to himself.

From the classroom, to the football field, to the stage, I have enjoyed Camden’s leadership through example.

Camden is always well prepared, he is very receptive and willing to improve.

Camden keeps an open mind and always listens.

Naturally quiet by nature, Camden is an observer.

He considers ideas, which fosters a creative and collaborative environment.

A good leader is someone who is comfortable handling suggestions and adapting to changing situations, and Camden has displayed this time and time again.

As his theatre teacher and One Act Play director, I have observed the grace in which Camden absorbs suggestions, and how he implements them into improving his performance in his own creative way.

He seeks knowledge to continuously develop his skills so as to be the best that he can be and thus, inspires those around him.”

When asked about his plans after graduation, Caleb said, “I desire to positively impact the lives of young men and women by becoming a successful High School Football Coach and Educator. I will major in Education in order to become a teacher as well as a coach.”
