NWS expecting rain to end tonight

Last updated 4/21/2016 at Noon

The National Weather Service is expecting the rain to finally end across the region tonight. A cold front will reach the coast by Friday morning and will draw in drier air for Friday and Saturday.

The next chance for rain will be Sunday into Monday and again Wednesday into next Thursday. No severe weather is expected and rain totals will be significantly less than what we saw this past week.

Several rivers will see minor flooding through the weekend, including the Neches, Pine Island Bayou, Sabine, and Calcasieu. The flooding will not be as bad as what we saw last month.

Temperatures will run normal to slightly above normal for the next week.

Along the coast, tides will be near normal for the next couple of days, but will go above normal again by Sunday into next week due to the onshore flow. Minor coastal flooding during high tides can be expected next week.
