When the officers arrived at the store, the suspect had just left the store and was attempting to flee. The store's owner met the officers outside and identified the suspect, 51 year old Jerry Scott, who was apprehended in the Church's Chicken parking lot, 1322 N. 16th St.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the suspect was caught in a storeroom of the store by an employee. The suspect displayed a knife in a threatening manner, before attempting to leave the store.
