Orange County Health Inspector James Scales made the following inspections on area businesses from May 1-12:

Speedy Stop Food Mart #32, 690 N. Main St., Vidor - Mold/slime found on drink dispensers; walls and floors throughout need to be cleaned of old foods; outside of reach-in coolers need to be cleaned of mold and slime; air vents need to be cleaned of old dust; more general cleaning is required at this location; water found under all outside doors of the walk-in cooler, need to repair. Score - 96

Vidor Superette #2, 2410 N. Main St., Vidor - Inside of cappuccino machine needs to be cleaned of old foods; no hot water was found inside restroom; store name and address are needed on all bags of ice sold from store; drinks being stored on the floor inside walk-in cooler, need to be six inches off the floor. Score - 92

Little Caesar's Pizza, 866 N. Main St., Vidor - Chicken stored above pizza sauce inside walk-in cooler; dates are needed on all product-some product found with only day of the week stickers without actual dates; paper towels are required at the hand washing stations; oven needs to be cleaned immediately- lots of food buildup; vent area needs to be cleaned; floors and walls throughout need to be cleaned of old foods; need to reseal back door. Score - 91

Little Cypress Learning (inside Little Cypress Baptist Church), 3274 Little Cypress Dr., Little Cypress. Score - 100

Subway #3599, 2637 Texas Ave., Bridge City - Ice scoop found laying on top of ice machine; mold/slime was found inside the ice machine; need to clean and sanitize. Score - 97

Exxpress Mart #1, 1745 Texas Ave., Bridge City - Score - 100

Dollar General #13471, 4080 Hwy. 105, Vidor - Found several dented cans and one with black substance on top of can; women's restroom with "out of order" sign on front, need to repair; paper towels need toe placed on holder inside men's restroom; found lots of spider and webs along the wall/ceiling throughout, need to remove; missing/damaged ceiling tiles found throughout, need to repair; will followup on restroom and ceiling issues of store. Score - 93

105 A-1 Smoke Shop, 5320 N. Main St., Vidor - Establishment opened without all required permits; no Food Service Permit was obtained before opening; no paper towels found inside employee's restroom; mice feces found on top of ice machine; need to reseal back door. Score - 94

Gina C's Catering, Hinch Rd., Vidor - Will be catering only vendor; pre-opening inspection. No Score

Stop and Shop, 111 green Ave., Orange - Walls still have damage from March 2016 flooding event, need to repair all damage; restroom needs to be cleaned. Score - 98

Days Inn, 2630 IH-10 W., Orange - Found milk and eggs inside reach-in cooler not at proper temperatures. Score - 97

Red Wagon Cafe, 445 W. Freeway, Vidor - Score - 100

Kim's Donut Palace, 3041 Hwy. 12, Vidor - Found sausage, boudain and eggs out of proper temperatures; no record of time found on holding sausage, boudin and eggs out at proper temperatures. Score - 94

Happy Donuts, 495 S. Main St., Vidor - Found sausage, boudin and eggs out of proper temperatures; no record of time found on holding sausage, boudin and eggs out at room temperature; lots of gnats found in back storage area of store; dead bugs found in most light shields; need to discard/repair all broken/unused equipment from store. Score - 93

Brookshire Brothers/Deli, 1380 N. Main St., Vidor - Dates needed on all product on sales floor; flies/gnats found throughout; area under drink dispensers need to be cleaned; counter holding water; floors, walls and ceilings need to be cleaned of old foods/dust; area around cake decorating needs to be cleaned more often and outside of storage buckets need to be cleaned of old foods; more general cleaning is required at this location daily. Score - 95

Taco Bell #17249, 2929 16th St., Orange - Light shield needed inside walk in freezer; floors throughout, especially under three compartment sink and back storage area need to be cleaned of old food and dirt. Score - 98

Mama Lupe Mexican Grill, 2615 Western Ave., Orange - Raw chicken being stored above vegetables inside reach in cooler; foods being stored inside metal cans inside reach in cooler; dates needed on all product inside coolers/freezers; dirty dishes found inside hand washing sink, owner pulled all dishes; floors throughout, especially near fryers need to be cleaned of old foods. Score -92

Stop N Drive #22, 1801 Dupomnt Dr., Orange - Black mold found inside ice machine, need to clean more often; found several expired foods on sales floor; drinks being stood on flood inside walk in cooler; walls and ceiling inside walk in cooler need to be cleaned of old foods/dust; floors throughout need to be cleaned and repaired, will followup on progress; back storage room needs to be cleaned and organized. Score - 93

Texas Country Store #1, 3701 N. 16th St., Orange - Rust found inside ice machine; mold found on all drink dispensers, need to clean more often; drinks being stored on the flood inside walk in cooler and on the sales floor need to be six inches off the floor; floors inside walk in cooler need to be cleaned of old trash; need to clean and organize the back storage area of the store; need to secure all CO2 tanks.
