OCSO investigating Vidor shooting

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call Monday, May 22, in reference to an accidental shooting that had occurred in the 3500 block of E. Railroad in the Vidor area. When officers arrived they found a 50 year old white female with at least two gunshot wounds; one to her wrist and one to her upper body. She was life flighted to St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont and is reported to be in stable condition after undergoing surgery. A 52 year old male was at the residence and was not injured.

Orange County Criminal Investigators began their investigation and initially determined the shooting was not accidental, however, the man and woman are not fully cooperating with law enforcement.

Formal charges have not been filed, but the Orange County Sheriff’s Office will continue its investigation.
