NWS: Dangerous heat to continue, tropics quiet

Last updated 7/7/2016 at Noon

The National Weather Service is expecting a continuation of the above normal temperatures for the next week. However, there will also be a scattered coverage of showers and thunderstorms each day as well.

Maximum heat indices will be in the 100 to 108 range, so heat advisories may still be necessary at times. Try to stay indoors during the hottest part of the day, and if you do go outdoors, be sure to drink plenty of water.

In the tropics, the Atlantic, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico will continue a quiet trend, wile the eastern Pacific will continue to be more active.
