Craft Beer Fest returns to Beaumont

An event which surpassed expectations in its first year is returning this fall to Southeast Texas.

The City of Beaumont announced last week it will host the Second Annual Beaumont Craft Beer Fest from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at The Event Centre, which is located at 700 Crockett St. in Beaumont.

Tickets are $20 - $50 for the event are on sale now for ages 21 and older only and can be purchased at the Beaumont Civic Center box office, as well as all Ticketmaster outlets and online at http://www.ticketmaster.com. The $20 general ticket includes entry to the craft beer fest, a souvenir cup and a tasting card. The $50 VIP ticket includes access to the private VIP lounge, entry to the event, a tasting card, souvenir cup, T-shirt and poster by artist Carlos Hernandez of Burning Bones Press.

This year's event is being presented by the City of Beaumont, along with Giglio Distributing and 2-Row/Del Papa Distributing. The festival will feature a variety of beverages from craft breweries located in Texas and across the United States.


According to the brewerassociation.org website, a craft brewers are typically small brewers who use innovation to create craft beer with traditional ingredients, while using non-traditional and interesting ingredients to create a distinctive product.

Many craft brewers are known for their distinctive, individualistic approaches for connecting with consumers and tend to be involved with their respective communities.

In 2015, the state of Texas had 189 craft breweries to rank seventh in the nation.


The event will include food vendors, as well as live music by local artists Cody Schaeffer and Wes Hardin, and will feature activities both indoors and outdoors.
