James R. Prevost, 73, of Vidor died Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A native of Beaumont, he lived in Athens, for over 30 years before moving back to Vidor several months ago. James is a member of Central Baptist Church in Vidor and loved to garage sale and fish. He was a sales associate with Groom & Sons Hardware Store in Mabank for over 30 years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Aug. 27, at Central Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm.

James is survived by his wife Lynda Prevost of Vidor; son James Prevost and his wife Katerah of Gun Barrel City; daughters Tammy Duvail and her husband David of Beaumont, Elizabeth Foxworth and her husband Ricky of Vidor; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
