The Kiwanis Club of Orange took a field trip this week as the organization held its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center in Orange to meet Maxine the Owl. Maxine is a14-year-old Barred Owl. She was severely injured at six-months old and had her right wing amputated.

Maxine resides at Shangri La and frequently makes appearances at local schools for educational visits with local students.
