ORANGEFIELD HIGH SCHOOL DECEMBER STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Bridge City, Texas, December 12, 2017 – The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the December Student of the Month for Orangefield High School is Ryan Deutsch. Ryan was presented his certificate and gift bag by Bridge City Chamber Ambassador Shawnie Wagstaff of Granger Chevrolet, at the December coffee hosted by Bridge City ISD. He received gift certificates and gifts from: The Classy Peacock, COS Printing, Wellspring Credit Union, Tiger Rock Martial Arts of Bridge City, Bridge City Bank, Sabine River Ford, Sabine Federal Credit Union, Complete Staffing, Five Point Credit Union, Bridge City Walmart, Neches Federal Credit Union, and Best Day Spa.

Ryan is the son of Rick and Janelle Deutsch. He has a GPA of 4.0 and is ranked 22 of 104. Ryan’s awards and honors include:

  • All A Honor Roll 2015
  • A-B Honor Roll 2016 to present
  • Perfect Attendance
  • OHS Baseball – Regional Playoffs 2017
  • OHS Track – Regionals 2016 and 2017


Ryan’s clubs and organizations include:

  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes 2015-2017
  • National Honor Society
  • Youth Leadership Southeast Texas

Mrs. Oregel, Calculus Teacher, said, “Ryan has the best, energetic, contagious personality. I enjoy having Ryan in class. He works hard and keeps the class very entertained also.”


Mrs. Johnson, Economics Teacher, said, “Ryan is a very sweet, intelligent and outgoing young man. He is always smiling and always has nice things to say and share. I enjoy having Ryan in my classes, he is attentive and interactive with the lessons. Congratulations, Ryan! Well deserved!”

Mrs. Jenkins, Chemistry Teacher, said, “Ryan has such a pleasant personality. He is kind and generous and always puts smiles on the faces of those around him. Having Ryan in my class has been a joy!”

Mr. Chevalier, English Teacher, said, “Ryan Deutsch is an intelligent, witty young man with an upbeat attitude and a quick smile.”

After graduation, Ryan plans to attend Lamar University and will pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering.
