Games This Week

WEST ORANGE-STARK over JASPER—This could be the start of a winning streak that lasts past Thanksgiving. But it certainly won’t be an easy task. The Mustangs MUST play better than they have with district play just a week away. Oh! by the way, Jasper has won five straight games so far this season.

VIDOR over PORT NECHES-GROVES—It looks like another impossible task for an Orange County team, but the Pirates played a great game against a super-tough Crosby team last week before losing in triple overtime. Things won’t get any easier for them at The Reservation Friday night but it is my Upset Special for high school.

ORANGEFIELD over KIRBYVILLE—The Bobcats ran out of gas in the second half against undefeated Buna, but they should have enough in their tank to take care of the Wildcats this week at F.L. McClain Stadium to even their district mark at 1-1.

DEWEYVILLE over BEAUMONT KELLY—The Pirates have had an open week and enough time to get rid of the bumps and bruises from the first four games this season. But it won’t be easy against this Bulldog team.

McNEESE STATE over ABILENE CHRISTIAN—Things won’t be any easier for the Cowboys as they host a good Abilene Christian team Saturday night in another Southland Conference match-up after nipping the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks 17-10 Saturday night in Nacogdoches. The Pokes need to continue their great defensive effort to remain undefeated in the SLC.
