Orangefield Junior High students in Mrs. Martha Howells 8th grade Language Arts classes enjoyed listening to a guest speaker, from across the pond, Mr. Huw Jones. Jones was born in Denbigh Wales, United Kingdom and remained there until he left to attend The University of Bristol, where he earned a degree in engineering. Mr. Jones is currently employed in London as an engineer at The Ministry of Defense. Huw Jones offered students an invigorating presentation covering multiple topics including: the U.K. school system, Denbigh Castle, Big Ben, House of Parliament, and his current London office and flat. Mr. Jones also shared an assortment of British candies with the 8th graders.

Students in Mrs. Howells' classes have been participating in international pen pals for years and have been able to learn about different cultures around the world by exploring various reading genres, and correspondence. The 8th graders were enthralled with Mr. Jones' presentation and had many questions to ask of his life abroad.
