Kiwanis grant providing books to students

Last updated 2/15/2019 at Noon

On Monday, February 11, representatives of the Kiwanis Club of Orange donated a check the Mauriceville Elementary School’s library. The funds will help the librarian provide books to as many children as possible who may not have funds to purchase their own. Librarian Sommer Reynolds will have drawings at the end of the week to determine which children are able to select a book of their own.

This is a new outreach of the Kiwanis Club of Orange. Their plan is to do the same for all the elementary schools in West Orange-Cove and Little Cypress-Mauriceville Districts. These are the districts with Key Clubs, which are sponsored by the Orange Kiwanis.

The Club is a civic organization that funds service projects benefitting local children. The Key Clubs are also service organizations that emphasizes community service to the student members.
