The Record Newspapers - Hometown News For Orange County, Texas

Both the Mauriceville Middle School and Little Cypress Junior High Bands came back from Concert and Sight-Reading Contest with Sweepstakes awards, which means that they got the highest ranking possible in each phase of the contest. There are three judges in each of these sections.

Kathy Smith and Justin Hargraves are directors of the Mauriceville Middle School bands. The Panther Band came home with a 1 (best possible score) from all 6 judges.

Dan Wilhelm and Jesse Winecoff are the Little Cypress Junior High directors who led the LCJH band to the Sweepstakes win.
