On 10-2-19 at 10:36 PM, Officers of the Orange Police Department were dispatched to IH-10 W. bound at MLK in reference to assisting another agency with a suicidal female walking in the roadway. While attempting to make contact with the female, she crossed the barrier wall into the east bound lane of traffic where she shot herself in the chest. The female was treated on the scene by Acadian Ambulance personnel and Orange Fire Department first responders. She was then transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where her condition is unknown. The incident is under investigation by the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department.
