The senior class members of Orangefield High School were given the opportunity to experience the Army Mobile Trailer Recruit Unit. The trailer offers a hands-on experience of what the Army has to offer. The students were able to learn about the 163 jobs available in the Army along with pay scales. Two instructors were in the trailer to provide specific information about the different job options. In addition, inside the trailer, students were able to participate in several different virtual reality situations. There was also an Apache helicopter simulator and a pistol service range similar to what marksmanship instructors use to train members of the Army.

The students also learned about the educational benefits of joining the Army. These include several options for paying for college such as the Post 9/11 GI Bill, the Montgomery GI Bill, the Texas Hazelwood Act, tuition assistance while on active duty, and various apprenticeship programs.

Personal growth that comes along with enlistment includes building confidence, raising self-esteem, challenging yourself, being able to choose your career as soon as you enlist, and leadership schools to advance in rank.
