The City of Bridge City cut the ribbon on the new drive through teller machine located in front of City Hall at 260 Rachal Avenue in Bridge City. The drive through payment method is similar to drive through banking machines used conveniently everywhere. Night deposits may also be made at the new City of Bridge City bill pay location. All incoming payments post to the account immediately. According to Bridge City Mayor David Rutledge the new system along with being more convenient is a way to help protect city employees and the public from the spread of Covid-19. He also noted that the traffic route into City Hall has changed to accommodate the new drive through facility. Funding for the new drive through teller machine were attained through the CARES Act and not local tax dollars.
