Elgie Joseph Fruge', 82, Orange

Elgie Joseph Fruge’, 82 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 in Beaumont, Texas. A graveside service to honor Elgie’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas. Dorman Funeral Home has been trusted with the arrangements.

Elgie Joseph Fruge’ was born in Crowly, LA on August 15, 1938 to Maurice and Alice Fruge’. He moved to Bridge City, TX in 1956 where he met his best friend, soul mate, and love of his life... his Betty Lou. They married in 1958 and were married for 62 glorious years. He provided a loving home for his family working at Fina for 40 years as a welder. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener and lived his life to the fullest at all times with his Betty Lou by his side, always. He was the rock of the family; everyone could count on him for anything at anytime.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Lou Fruge’, children Elgie Joseph Fruge’ Jr. & his wife Jodie, Debbie Fruge’ Jackson, Melody Fruge’ Green & her husband Gary, Vicki Fruge’ Oceguera & her husband Louis; Grandchildren, Matthew Cook, Jessica Everett, Tara Gooden, Carrie Jo Moton, Hunter Fountain, Blayne Addison, Sarah Fruge’, Abby Green and Anna Green and 12 great grandchildren. Any person that was privileged enough to know him was a better person for it. He was one of the most kind-hearted, gentle, and selfless men and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Pallbearers honoring Elgie will be Louis Oceguera, Jay Gooden, Jace Gooden, Trace LeBlanc, Hunter Fountain and Keeton Addison.
