Gracious, loving, compassionate, kind, and thoughtful are just a few of the words that describe Connie Feverjean Smith, but the titles she loved most were wife to Smitty, mom to Lauren, and Mimi to her precious boys.

Connie was an incredible teacher, a precious friend, a wise mentor, a talented baker, a savvy shopper, a lover of travel and tour directing, an avid reader, a faithful prayer warrior, and most of all a servant of her great God. Everyone that knew her loved her and felt her love.

Connie was born on November 19, 1958, in Kaplan, LA, to Lovelace and Vivian Feverjean. She graduated from Bridge City High School in 1977 and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree as well as her Masters degree from Lamar University in Beaumont. Upon graduation, she taught in Bridge City ISD at both Hatton and Sims Elementary for twenty-eight years.

There, her life's work involved touching thousands of students' lives with her knowledge and wisdom, but most importantly with her love.

Connie loved each student and co-worker and friend and family member with the love of Jesus as she so effortlessly made each person feel like they were the most important person in the world to her.

Her world revolved, however, around her faith and her family. Connie married the love of her life, Kenneth Allen Smith in 1977, and they were married for forty-three wonderful years.

Kenneth lovingly recalls that she checked all the boxes of the wedding vows. Besides being a loving wife, Connie was most proud of her precious daughter, Lauren, her beloved son-in-love, Kent, and her favorite grandchildren, Colton and Keller. Connie most loved being a Mimi and being with her precious boys. Whether it was playing games with them, reading with them, cheering them on in their activities, or taking them on adventures, she was all in.

Connie faithfully served her church, Liberty Baptist Church, and was the hands and feet of Jesus to people near and far as she sought to love others well and live with purpose. She wanted everyone she knew to love Jesus and to feel loved. Connie had the gift of hospitality, and she loved to gather with friends and family. After entering heaven's gates on March 15, 2021, at the age of 62, we know that Connie is rejoicing at the banquet table of her Savior today.

Connie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Lovelace and Vivian Feverjean; her brother, Randy Feverjean; her sister-in-law, Diana Smith Guidry; her mother-in-law, Rachel Smith; her father-in-law, Heubert Smith; and her brother-in-law, Grady Smith.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Smith, of Bridge City; her daughter, Lauren Smith Dosch and son-in-love, Kent Dosch of Bowie; and her precious grandchildren, Colton Dosch (12), and Keller Dosch (12), of Bowie, Texas. Connie is also survived by her brother, Manson Feverjean, and wife Nelda; sister, Melinda Feverjean Holley; and brother-in-law, John Smith, and wife Denise; along with several beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, and great-nephews that love her dearly.
