“Rolling Art: Vehicles from the Permanent Collection,” a special exhibition at the Stark Museum of Art, will open to the public on Wednesday, April 21. The exhibition features the three automobiles from The W.H. Stark House Collections in a new installation to highlight the allure of the vehicles. The exhibition will remain on view in the Museum’s Gallery 5 through Saturday, June 19, 2021. The 1911 Hupp Motor Car Company Roadster is a car the Stark family often used for hunting at their ranch in Colorado. The 1922 Ford Model T Runabout Pickup was modified to be a truck that the Stark family used at the ranch. The 1950 Crosley Super Sport is the sports car Lutcher Stark often drove around Shangri La Gardens. Viewers will have the opportunity to access a custom soundtrack with a playlist featuring songs inspired by the artwork. “Our latest exhibit, ‘Rolling Art,’ showcases our extraordinary collection of antique automobiles. These vehicles are a triumph in the mating of art and utility and continue to provoke a sense of adventure and freedom that drove the West,” noted Ryan Farrell, Director, Exhibitions and Collections.
