Orange County Texas Exes give scholarships

The Wynne Hunt Memorial Endowed Scholarship has been awarded to Lizeth De La Fuente of Little Cypress Mauriceville High School.  She is ranked 4th in her class and was president of the Rotary Interact Club, vice president of the National Honor Society and Senior class president.  She was also a STAR student and participated in Key Club, Student Council and the tennis team.  Lizeth plans to major in Biology at UT and become a dentist.

The Orange County Texas Exes chapter is pleased to announce recipients of its three endowed scholarships for our local high school graduates attending the University of Texas at Austin this fall.

The recipient of the Judge Pat Clark Endowed Scholarship is Semma Alhatri.  She ranks 6th in her class at Little Cypress Mauriceville.  Semma was president of the National Honor Society, captain of the varsity soccer team, member of Key Club and participated in the Battlin' Bear band and color guard.  She plans to major in Biology at UT.

Thomas Bunch, Bridge City High School graduate, is the recipient of the June and Jesse B. Gunstream Endowed Scholarship for Academic Excellence.  Ranked 4th in his class, Thomas was the drum major of the BCHS marching band.  He participated in UIL Academics for math and science, the National Honor Society, and was a finalist in the Stark Reading Contest.  Thomas, an Eagle Scout, plans to major in Computer Science at UT.
