Geraldine "Gerry" Ford of Richmond, Texas, longtime resident of Bridge City and former member of Liberty Baptist Church, passed away at home August 11, 2021, peacefully in the presence of her loving family. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas, to John "J.C." Darby & Imogene Darby Swiney November 5, 1940. She was the oldest of eight children.

Sharing of memories and a celebration of her life is scheduled for Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 6:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church, 2717 W. Round Bunch Rd. Bridge City. Texas. Visiting and fellowship with the family will begin at 4:00 PM prior to the service.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, her son Mark Kevin Ford, granddaughter Rachel Taryn Ford, grandson Brandon Ryan Levins at infancy, her five brothers, John Darby Jr., David Darby, Rene "Jack" Darby, Grady Darby, Claude Darby and sister Lattie Jo Heflin.

Geraldine is survived by her husband John Ford of sixty-four years and 2 days, daughter Vicki Stein and husband Bill, son John Ford, Jr. and wife Melinda and her children Morgan and Dillon Becker and sister Zilda Bland. She was grandmother, "Gran", to Rebecca Baker, Mark Kevin Ford, Jr., Jonathan Levins and wife Rachel, Daniel Ford and wife Lynae, Kristen Edmond and husband Joseph and Ben Stein and wife Amanda; also "Gran" (great grandmother) to Allison Baker, Olivia Levins, Penelope Levins, Spencer Levins, Ryleigh Ford, Taryn Lynn Ford, Peyton Stein, Evelyn Stein and Charlie Stein along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Geraldine truly will be missed as her love, legacy, kindness and memories continue to grow through all those she touched throughout her eighty years. She loved the Lord and you clearly knew that by the way she lived her life and the choices she made. She was the perfect wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her beautiful brown eyes, along with her smile and kindness would melt your heart. She also had the gift of cooking and sharing that gift, especially her gumbo and chili, which was over the top. Her most precious gift was her gift of kindness.
