DAR Celebrates Constitution Week

The William Diamond chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, reminds all Americans that the week of September 17-23 commemorates the 245th year of the signing of the Constitution of the United States.

Local celebration highlights include a luncheon for members and guests of the three area chapters: host Orange chapter is William Diamond, Beaumont chapter is Colonel George Moffett and Port Arthur chapter is Captain William Sanders. 

William Diamond chapter regent, Elberta Herman, will preside over the annual luncheon.  Pastor Keith Royal, from First Baptist Church in Bridge City will lead the invocation and music director, Debbie Anderson will sing the National Anthem.  Representing Texas DAR is

Elizabeth Jones, District V Director from Heritage Trails chapter in Spring, Texas.

The luncheon will be at the Old Orange Cafe at 11:00 a.m. on September 18.  Guest speaker, Krispen Walker, Assistant District Attorney in Orange will speak on Constitutional Rights. 


 A Constitution Week display is at the Orange Public Library.  Proud Americans are encouraged to fly the American flag for the week.
