In an attempt to implement community service learning activities, students in Mrs. Spears' Family and Community Service class identified service projects that would benefit the community, integrated their interests and abilities, and planned and organized a canned dog/cat food drive benefiting the Humane Society of Southeast Texas. After drop off, students were able to tour facilities, and volunteer their time at the shelter.
