Bridge City track standout Caryss Carpenter signed a letter of intent Monday with Sam Houston State to continue her sports career. An honor roll student with a 4.1 grade point average, Carpenter won District 22-4A titles in the 100-meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump was twice all-district in volleyball and a four-time All-American cheerleader. Seen with Caryss is her mother Jill Mahan and father Roman Carpenter.
