Gene Don Morgan, 94, Bridge City

Gene Don Morgan, 94, of Bridge City, passed away on January 11, 2022, in Beaumont.

A graveside service for Gene will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 14, 2022, at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Matt Martin. Burial will follow.

Born in Kirbyville, Texas, on October 3, 1927, he was the son of Robert “RT” Theodore Morgan and Minnie Dorothy (McLemore) Morgan. Gene worked for Texaco as a Foreman over the power department. He was in charge of water treatment, boilers, steam and gas electrical and generation. Gene was a dedicated worker and a great asset to Texaco. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and they adored him. Gene always made comments about his red-headed great-grandchildren.

He was a dedicated member of Bridge City United Pentecostal Church. Gene will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, RT and Minnie Morgan; loving wife, Helen Herron Morgan; daughter, Charlotte Morgan; brother, Julian Morgan; sisters, Ruby Lee Murdy and Sue Williamson; and daughter-in-law, Charlene Morgan.

He is survived by his children, Michael Morgan and wife Carolyn of Fairmount, Janice Campbell and husband Norman of Bridge City, Jeanie Bell and husband Glenn of Nederland, Scott Morgan of Bridge City; eleven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Campbell, Justin Campbell, Brandon Bell, Kevin Morgan, Jared Morgan and Julian Morgan.
