Orange Police Investigating Hotel Burglaries

The Orange Police Department is investigating two burglaries that occurred at a hotel in Orange the last week of February. The burglaries were perpetrated at the Hotel Orange at 2900 Lutcher Drive on Saturday, February 26, and Monday, February 28.

Officer Jaclyn Patronella was dispatched at 6:38 PM on Saturday to the hotel in reference to the first burglary that had occurred at 5:46 AM that morning. A female employee told police that a white male broke into the building and stole an outdoor flood light valued at approximately $100 according to the police.

The second burglary was reported Monday afternoon at 1:41 PM. Officer Garrold Keaton went to the Hotel Orange and spoke with the owner Khurm Mark Syed who told the police the business has been burglarized.

Lt. Jonathan Baggett with the Orange Police Department's Detective Division said that items valued in the thousands of dollars were taken in the burglary on Monday. Details of what was taken were not disclosed at this point. Forced entry was made by the suspect during the burglary.

Both burglary cases have suspects that are being investigated by the police. Lt. Baggett said the police do have a primary suspect in the first burglary and are trying to determine if that suspect was also involved in the second burglary.
