Lorene B. Camp, 94 of Pinehurst, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont Texas.

She was born on September 11, 1927, in Garvin, OK., to Walter and Fay Carey.

Lorene was a charter member of First Church of God of Orange, until the last few years when she faithfully attended the Orange First Church of the Nazarene. She worked many years in the WOCCISD school cafeterias, and later was Supervisor of West Orange Stark central kitchen until her retirement. After retirement, she volunteered at Orange Hermann Memorial Baptist Hospital, working with the Red Cross.

She volunteered and enjoyed quilting at The Thrift and Gift Shop of Orange. She loved to travel, but her favorite was family camping trips to the lake with her family and fishing at the river with Ray. She enjoyed cooking for her family, and especially loved baking.

Her grandchildren looked forward to their yearly summer vacation when they spent special time with their Granny & Pa, playing games, enjoying picnics, swimming, and she would always cook them their favorite meals and treats.

She created the most wonderful memories for them, and was absolutely the best Granny ever.

Lorene was preceded in death by her her parents, Walter K. Carey and Fay Madden Carey, her late husband John “Ray” Camp, Sr., nephew, E.B. Crocker; brother in-law, Evans Crocker; son in-law, Randy Begley; and grand daughter in-law, Melissa Baker.

She is survived by her daughters Martha Baker of Houston, TX, Mary Begley of Yukon, OK, Lora & Richard Harris of Allen, TX., and son John & Victoria Camp, Jr., of Orange.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Jill (Dave) Knowles, Josh Baker, Carey (Wes) Renchen, Courtney Harris, Clint Harris (fiancé Brei Doremus), John Camp III, Dustin (Jennifer) Camp, and Michael (Heather) Camp.

Great grandchildren Zane (Chasity) Renchen, Jon Renchen, Carys Baker, Matthew Gillin, William Baker, Ashley Knowles, Brooke Knowles, Kinley Camp, Lucas Camp, and William Camp. Sister, Katherine Crocker of Orange; and many special nieces and nephews.

Officiating at her memorial service will be Reverend Murry Ray. Graveyard Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2022 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Orange, TX.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 27 at Claybar Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Dave Knowles, Josh Baker, Wes Renchen, Clint Harris, John Camp III, Dustin Camp, and Michael Camp.

The family wishes to thank the precious aides and the kindness of the special people, even the maintenance man at Sabine Place in Orange, who were always there to accommodate her, where she lived the last two years.

To Harbor Hospice of Beaumont, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate care during her final weeks in the wonderful care of Dr. Lavalais and all of the incredible, loving staff.

Honorary Pallbearers are her great-grandchildren; Zane Renchen, Jon Renchen, Carys Baker, Matthew Gillin, William Baker, Ashley Knowles, Brooke Knowles, Kinley Camp, Lucas Camp, and William Camp.
