Scherry Becker, 74, of Orange, passed away on April 29, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022, at North Orange Baptist Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Chip Anthony of North Orange Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, at North Orange Baptist Church in Orange. Scherry was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on September 15, 1947, she was the daughter of Thomas and Shirley Roberson. Scherry was a very active member of North Orange Baptist Church helping cook on Sundays or Wednesdays. She worked in retail for many years, and always enjoyed sitting outdoors in her free time. Scherry adored her family and loved being able to spend time with them. She was truly loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Leslie L. Becker; grandson, Tyler Melton; and her sister, Virginia Marshall.
She is survived by her children, Tammy Dietze of Orange, Kathy Barron and husband Donald of Orange, and Les Becker, Jr. and wife Lynda of Olympia, Washington; grandchildren, Dylan Dietze, Drake Dietze, Shelly Butler and husband David, Ally Brisbay, Samantha Becker; great-grandchildren, Tyler Melton, Jr., Taylor Jo Melton, Blake Butler, Jacob Butler; sisters, Donna Bryant and husband Donnie, Regina Dragulski and husband Gene; as well as many other loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to North Orange Baptist Church Memorial Fund at 4775 N. 16th Street, Orange, Texas 77632.
