Paul Alexander Roy, Jr., 95, Bridge City

Paul Roy, Jr, 95, of Bridge City, passed away on May 25, 2022 at Baylor St. Lukes Medical Center Houston surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, June 1, 2022, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Ernie Carpio and Deacon Steve Obernuefemann. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, May 31, 2022 at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. A rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on March 11, 1927, he was the son of Paul Alexander Roy, Sr. and Maude Marie Borel.

Paul served in the Navy during World War II, he was stationed on Enewetak Atoll Island in the Pacific. Once back home in Texas he worked for Texaco and retired after 36 years. After retirement he taught instrumentation at Lamar University in Beaumont for several years.

He was a long time SFOA football official in Southeast Texas. He enjoyed his retirement with his wife and "bride" of 70 years, as they traveled extensively throughout the United States. Paul was an amazing person who loved his family and friends, he will be deeply missed by all those who

loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Alexander Roy, Sr. and Maude Marie Borel; wife, Nettie Roy; and sisters, Bessie Walker and Gloria Cude.

He is survived by his sons, Paul M. Roy (Debbie), Brad Roy (Carlis), Gary Roy (Tammie), and Reagan Roy (Tammy); 8 grandchildren, Kim Mathews (Jason), Kurt Roy (Kerry), Ashley Bearden (Tyler), Morgan Hinds (David), Garrett Roy (Jamie), Jordan Roy (Leasa), Taylor Roy (Kaylie), and Tyler Roy (Kelsy); a special niece Debbie Campbell; as well as 14 great grandchildren and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kurt Roy, Garrett Roy, Jordan Roy, Taylor Roy, Tyler Roy, Jason Mathews, Tyler Bearden, and David Hinds.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made St. Henry's Catholic Church or Southeast Texas Hospice.
