On June 23, 2022 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by all her children and grandchildren, Katherine McLane Frey, 83, passed from this world to our Heavenly Father’s house in the heavens.

She was born April 9th, 1939, in Eunice, Louisiana to Effie Louise and David McLane. She married Will David Frey in 1957.

The Frey Family moved to Orange, Texas in 1966 and she ran Frey’s Nursery & Garden Center with her late husband, Will.

Katherine was a larger-than-life personality. She never met a stranger and brought so much joy to everyone she met. Katherine was a vibrant member of the community and had a true servant’s heart. Her life was filled love, laughter, family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kim & David Boyd, Sabrina & Lynn Gray, Karen & Kirk Richard, Stephanie & Ted Leggett; son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Terri Frey and 18 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

All services will be held Monday June 27, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange located at 4300 Meeks Drive.

A rosary in Katherine’s memory will be held at 9:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am.

Officiating will be Reverend Francis X. Conroy. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Orange.

In true Katherine style, a celebration of life will be held instead of visitation from 12pm to 2pm at the San Damiano Center. The family invites all that would like to attend.

In lieu of flowers, Katherine requests donation to St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Francis of Assisi.
