The Stark Museum of Art will have a free family day event with activities and crafts on Saturday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The museum is in downtown Orange at 712 Green Avenue.

Families can tour the museum's galleries and take a look at a special exhibition of local artwork. Students from the museum's Summer Art Quest hand-colored pictures from a coloring book of places in the Stark Cultural Venues, which include the art museum, Shangri-La gardens, the Lutcher Theater, and the W.H. Stark House.

Craft activities will include making a custom-designed photograph frame. Volunteers from the Orange African-American Museum, the Orange Train Depot Museum, and Heritage House of Orange County will have stories and activities for participants.

A special "Tot Spot" will be set up for activities for children age 4 and younger.

Parents and their kids will get to play a scavenger hunt to find the matching pictures within the museum's galleries. A prize will be given for children who complete the hunt.

Families will also be able to walk across Green Avenue to the 1894 Stark House and tour the downstairs of the 14,000 square-foot Victorian mansion with its original furnishing.
