Lady Bears sweep Vidor in volleyball

Hallie Maddox led the Lady Bears in assists with 22 and tied for the team lead in kills with four during their win over the Vidor Lady Pirates

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears swept their match with the Vidor Lady Pirates on Friday, September 16. The win evened the Lady Bears record to 1-1 in district action.

The first set was tied before the Lady Bears captured the last two points to take it 26-24. Little Cypress-Mauriceville had an easier time in the last two sets winning them 25-14 and 25-16 to complete the sweep.

The Lady Bears were led by Hallie Maddox, Mariah Ammons, and Chrissy Joseph all with 4 kills. Lindi Perry had 3 blocks, and Janniliz Nazario served 3 aces. Lexi Tubbleville was tops with 16 digs. The assists leader with 22 was Maddox.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville also won the Junior Varsity and Freshmen matches. The Lady Bears JV won in two straight sets. The Lady Bear freshmen needed three sets to win their match with Vidor.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville played Lumberton on Tuesday. The Lady Bears play again on Friday at Jasper with the varsity game starting at 4:30 PM.
