Herbert “Bert” Hoover Whitehead, Jr., 66, of Nederland, passed away on September 22, 2022, in Nederland, Texas.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on September 16, 1956, he was the son of Betty Marie and Herbert Hoover Whitehead, Sr.

Bert was a jokester like no other and made friends everywhere he went. He was an outdoorsman over everything.

Bert enjoyed camping, boating, playing golf, and riding motorcycles, especially his Harley. He was fond of old westerns and country music. Bert lit up around anything with a remote control. In his spare time you might find him building things and piddling around.

Bert loved his kids and grandkids more than anything else, he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Herbert Whitehead, Sr; sister, Rosie Sweeney; and brother-in-law, Michael Darby.

He is survived by his children, Shane Whitehead of San Francisco, California, Nikki Whitehead of Nederland, Jeremy Whitehead of Pacifica, California, Shalea Whitehead of Nederland, Chantelle MacCallum and wife, Arielle of Beaumont; grandchildren, Annah, Rocky, Jeremy Jr, Jacob, Jordan, Nathan, Sophia, Kamden; sister, Vicky Darby; along with his fur baby, Bentley.
