Lady Cardinals remain undefeated in district

Cambree LaComb led the Lady Cardinals in assists in both their wins last week to help keep Bridge City undefeated in district action

The first place Bridge City Lady Cardinals remain undefeated in volleyball. The Lady Cardinals won both their matches last week over the Vidor Lady Pirates on Tuesday and the Lumberton Lady Raiders on Friday.

Bridge City won the first two sets 25-16 and 25-13 against Vidor. The Lady Pirates won the third set 26-24 before the Lady Cardinals closed out the match in a tight fourth set 25-23 at the Bridge City High School gym.

Three Lady Cardinals served 4 aces each Demi Carter, Anna Kelly, and Taryn Doiron. Carter led Bridge City with 16 kills. Cambree LaComb was the leader in assists with 16 and Lexi Nugier was tops with 14 digs for the Lady Cardinals.

Bridge City traveled to Lumberton to play the Lady Raiders winning in straight sets. The scores were 25-18, 25-15, and 25-21 in favor of the Lady Cardinals.

Demi Carter was the leader again in kills for Bridge City as was Cambree LaComb in assists and Lexi Nugier in digs. Taryn Doiron served 4 aces and Lexi Nugier had 2 aces.

Bridge City played Tuesday, September 27, at Jasper. The Lady Cardinals close out the first half of district on Friday at West Orange-Stark.
