Shirley Dale LaChance, age 75 of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Service to honor Shirley’s life will be held at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Dorman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Pine Island Cemetery, in Simpson, Louisiana. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Dorman Funeral Home.

Shirley was born on April 1, 1941, in Long Beach, California, to parents Thelma Lois Bulliet Bennett and Kile Bennett. Shirley attended Northwest Louisiana Technical College in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She lived in Orange, Texas most of her life and retired after many dedicated years with the accounting department with Orange County Housing Authority. After moving to Wichita Falls with her husband, she became a faithful member of Floral Heights Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Shirley loved doing word puzzles, Sudoku puzzles, and coloring. But, most of she loved spending time with her grandchildren and always loved have them close.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Kile and Thelma Bennett; and her sister, Janice Fulks.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert LaChance, Sr., of Wichita Falls, TX; children, Darby Collier, of Nampa, ID, Steven Stroud and his wife, Mary, of Little Cypress, TX, Mark Norwood, of Orange, TX, Shauna Stroud and her husband, John Puckett, of Wichita Falls, TX, Robert LaChance, II and his wife, Helen, of Olympia, WA; grandchildren, Josiah Collier, Dominic Collier, Kennedy DeBord, Macy Stroud, Brody Stroud, Holly Hunt, Kaitlyn Stroud, Kierstin Stroud, Halie Ankney, Rachel Rathmell, David Puente, Jr., Joseph Puente, Khloe Puente, Kaliena Puente, Kassie Puckett, Jacob Puckett, Will LaChance and Cosette LaChance; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many wonderful friends.

Pallbearers to honor Shirley will be John Puckett, Jake Puckett, Tim Childress, Elmer Bergeron, Robert LaChance II and Tommy Permenter.
