Monty Mozelle Phillips, 78, Orange

Monty Mozelle Phillips, 78, of Orange, passed away on October 12, 2022, in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Bell. Burial will follow at Evergreen in Orange.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m., Thursday October 20, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born on August 28, 1944, in Orange, Texas, she was the daughter of Arthur Phillips and Lucille Phillips. Monty was a member of Cove Baptist Church. Monty was a great and amazing caregiver for 35 years. She loved her work very much. She enjoyed being able to be in her garden to plant and made sure to keep it full and beautiful. Monty could normally be found spending all her extra time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all those who had grown to know and love Monty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lucille Phillips; son, Michael Dyer; siblings, Arthur Lee Phillips, Juanita Phillips, Marion Phillips, and Mary Ann Hodckinson.

She is survived by daughter, Lisa Davis; son, Ricky Wagnon; daughter-in-law, Patricia Dyer; siblings, Betty Bell, Charles Phillips, and Tommy Phillips; grandchildren, Josh Dyer, Ashley Dyer, Mckayla Ennis, Christina Labar, and Chase Lee; great-grandchildren, Ava Dyer and Caprl Ennis; and many numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Dyer, Kyle Ennis, Roy Dyer, Wade Phillips, Greg Freeman, and Jason Hoffpauir.
