The Orangefield Lady Bobcats avenged an earlier loss to the East Chambers Lady Bucs with a four set win on Tuesday, October 11. The Lady Bobcats have won their last six straight matches.
East Chambers won the opening set taking the early momentum taking an 11-5 lead. The Lady Bucs closed out the set 25-15 over Orangefield.
The second set was knotted at 6-6 before Orangefield took a 9-7 lead. The Lady Bobcats stretched their advantage to 15-9 before the Lady Bucs pulled to within two points at 20-18. The Lady Bobcats closed strong and won the set 25-22 to even the match.
The third set was dominated by Orangefield. The Lady Bobcats grabbed an early lead and won 25-7 in the set.
The fourth set saw the Lady Bobcats continue their momentum from the last two sets. Orangefield won it 25-17 to clinch the match.
Greenlea Oldham was dominate at the net for the Lady Bobcats with 13 kills. Mackenzie Haley had a strong night with a team leading 4 aces and 8 kills. Harleigh Rawls topped Orangefield with 21 digs and was one behind team leader Brianna Moore with 17 assists.
Orangefield Coach Ashlee Peevey was pleased with the Lady Bobcats performance after dropping the first set. "Tonight we pulled together a little bit faster. Good teams find a way when you're just not playing well, and I think that's what we did tonight," Peevey replied.
Orangefield played the first place Hardin Lady Hornets last Friday at Hardin. The Lady Hornets won the match over Orangefield in three straight sets.
Lady Bobcat Mackenzie Haley was the team leader in kills with 5 followed by Greenlea Oldham who had 4 kills. Harleigh Rawls led with 11 digs and Brianna Moore topped Orangefield with 13 assists. Lela Francis served 2 aces.
The Lady Bobcats traveled to Buna on Tuesday. Orangefield’s next volleyball match will be Friday at Kountze.
