Area Labor Council gives election endorsements

The Sabine Area Central Labor Council AFL-CIO has announced its endorsements in the November 8 general election. The council made no endorsements for Orange County candidates as the county has non-contested races.

The endorsements for Jefferson County are Christian "Manuel" Hayes for Texas Representative District 22, duel endorsements of Gordon Friesz and Chelsie Ramos for State District 317 judge, Jeff Brannick for county judge, Jes Prince for county clerk, Charlie Hallmark for county treasurer, and Cary Erickson for Precinct 2 county commissioner.

Statewide offices follow the Texas AFL-CIO Council endorsements with Beto O'Rourke for governor, Mike Collier for lieutenant governor, Rochelle Garza for attorney general, Janet T. Dudding for state comptroller, Jay Kleberg for General Land Office commissioner, Susan Hayes for agriculture commissioner, Erin A. Nowell for Texas Supreme Court Place 3, Amanda Reichek for Texas Supreme Court Place 5, Julia Maldanado for Texas Supreme Court Place 9, Dana Huffman for Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Place 5, and Robert Johnson for Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Place 6.
