Ronald "Ron" Gene Evans, 56, Hartburg

Ronald “Ron” Gene Evans, age 56, of Hartburg, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, in Beaumont, Texas. Family and friends will gather for a graveside service, at 1:00 PM, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at King Cemetery; Pastor Tony Wilcox will be officiating. Visitation of family and friends will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 5:00 PM- 8:00 PM, at Dorman Funeral Home.

Ron was born in Orange, Texas, on March 14, 1966, to Vera Aline James and Lonnie Joe Evans. He was a lifelong resident of southeast Texas; after high school, Specialist Evans (E-4) served four years active duty, with the United States Army, during the Gulf War Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. In addition to receiving numerous medals, ribbons, and an expert qualifications badge, Specialist Evans was released from active duty, with an Honorable discharge.

For twenty five years, Ron worked as an operator, at Arlanxeo Performance Elastomers, in Orange, Texas. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed carpentry work and spending time with his family. “Come hell or high water”, whether it was his last dollar or the shirt off his back, Ron was going to help any and everyone who needed it. He had a big heart and was loved by all who knew him.

Preceding Ron in death are his parents, Lonnie and Vera Evans, and his sister, Janet Ruth Evans.

Ron is survived by his sons, Lance Evans, of Vidor, Texas, and TJ Knight and his wife, Hannah, of Mauriceville, Texas; daughter, Brittany Simpson and her fiancé, Malcolm Webb, of Clifton, ; brothers, Destry Lynn Evans, of Hartburg, Texas, and Tom Edward Evans and his wife, Emmie, of Dry Creek, Louisiana; grandchildren, Kipton, Lincoln, Myla, AJ, Conner, Dawson, and Corbin; nephew, Ryan Joseph Samuel Evans; and numerous members of extended family, and friends.

Honoring Ron as pallbearers are TJ Knight, Tom Evans, Destry Evans, Jerry Clark, Jody Forse, and Martin Mattchett; Lance Evans and Charles McDonald will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
